Pets make great subjects- getting down low to their level makes a great shot, but don't be afraid to experiment with fun and interesting angles.

Just because you don't have a special macro lens doesn't mean you can't take close-up pictures! Set your camera to Macro mode (usually shown as a flower icon.) It probably wont focus perfectly first try, but persevere! Also remember that you can take the photo a little farther out and crop and edit later!

Next time you are at a grocery or produce store or farmer's market, pick up a bunch of flowers. Any kind will will work. Bring them outside, put them in a vase, lay them on the ground, throw them in the air, have someone hold them... the photographical possibilities with flowers are endless!

Take a look at photo editing sites- you can do some really fun things with your pics! My favorite is PicMonkey.com. There are lots of fun effects and touch-up tools, and it is FREE!

When ever I want to take some photos, I go outside. Natural lighting, check. Something to shoot, check. Even if you live in the most boring part of the suburbs imaginable, you  will find something worth capturing. Play with angles, and remember to move around an object- something that looks very plain in the light from one side can look magical from the other side.
